The New Jonathan
Finally we can present you the new Jonathan, Jonathan IV is a 67 feet steel boat eminently suitable for the special circumstances of our sailing grounds, the High Arctic. Although we are still very happy with Jonathan III we needed a bigger boat to accommodate the larger groups or for the teams with a special objects for they usually bring loads of equipment and need space to work.
Jonathan IV has 10 guest berths and will be sailed with skipper and crew. There are 2 huts for 2 persons and 2 huts for 3 persons and 2 toilet/shower compartments. Jonathan IV will be excellent for longer trips for there is a huge storage area for food and equipment. And with 2000 litres of fuel we can go a long way if the wind lets us down for any length of time.
In September we sailed the boat to Poland where the refit has started to make it a deck salon version. Without destroying the lines of the boat we will then be able to sit in comfort inside and enjoy the scenery around us. So we will not miss the polar bear on the beach while we are having our coffee in the salon.
Needless to say that right in the middle of the salon will be a beautiful Reflex heater to keep us warm and the kettle boiling.
Jonathan IV holds the English MCA certificate for category 0 (unlimited sailing). So boat and equipment are checked annually by a British surveyor. Skipper and crew have there English certificates.
