Delivery Tromsø to Spitsbergen

Early June Jonathan IV needs to be sailed up from Tromsø to Spitsbergen for the season. On our way up we will pass Bjornoya and are planning to stop there for 2 days giving us the opportunity to go for some hikes and visit some of the remains of the old whaling stations. A stop at the weather station is also planned.

The distance between Tromso and Longyearbyen is less the 600 NM and should take us 3 – 4 days sailing. Off course the weather and ice conditions will decide our navigation. Getting closer to Longyearbyen we might stop in Hornsund or Bellsund.

Participants will take part in keeping watches, steering, daily chores etc. You do not need to be experienced or have previous sailing experience. The crew will teach you the basics if needed.
