Skipper Mark van de Weg is a very experienced sailor from the South Pacific up till 81º North.
He circumnavigated the world between ’85 and ’89 in a traditional wooden 30 footer.
In Jonathan II and III he made three trips to Greenland, a circumnavigation of Iceland, and three trips to
Spitsbergen (Svalbard). Over 40 worldwide deliveries of more then 500 nm including another 5 Atlantic crossings. All with very different types of boats.

Between June 2002 and October 2003 he wintered with Jonathan III in a small and isolated bay in Northwest Spitsbergen at 79º North
